What PSU would be good for a Diamond Radeon HD 4890 graphics card?

What PSU would be good for a Diamond Radeon HD 4890 graphics card? I have 4GB ddr2 Ram, P55G (V1.0) motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo, and a 150GB hard drive. I was hoping to spend under $100. Thanks|||PSU wattage isn't what you should be looking at. Your components draw most of their power from the +12V rail, which is why +12V rail amps are FAR more important.

Since you are using the PCChips P55G microATX motherboard with just one PCIExpress 16x slot, it tells me you will only be running one single video card (no Crossfire). So you don't need a stupid-huge $100 SLI/Crossfire-ready power supply.

The breakdown for your components' power requirements:

- The Core 2 Duo is a 65-watt CPU. That's 5.5 Amps on the +12V rail.

- The HD4890 draws around 200 watts maximum. That's 17 amps on a PSU's +12V rail.

- The mobo, RAM, drives and fans will pull another 5 amps.

Add it all together, your system will pull a total of 28 amps when everything is drawing max power at the same time (which rarely ever happens).

Get the Corsair 450W, which has 33 Amps on its +12V rail and will run your system nicely. Like I said, you don't need anything bigger because you will NOT be running Crossfire, not on that microATX board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as鈥?/a> $60 after rebate.|||You do not need anything above 550 watts. Here is a great PSU that is uner 100$...ATX Case psu

Its cheaper after rebate. If you do not do rebates then the price might be similar on newegg but its cheaper on zipzoomfly if u do rebate|||this is a good psu for 90.00 bux....ocz 700w psu with 46amps on the 12v rails...

ocz 700w----http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as鈥?/a>

or you could go cheaper with a ocz 600w psu with 42 amps on the 12v rails for 75.00 bux

ocz 600w----http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as鈥?/a>

both are modular...good for wire management

if running 1 card i would get the 600w if you plan on cross fire the 700w is enough to run it.....

Scott|||First you need more info on your computer as you need to use the correct power supply for the computer. TFX is one such that has 300w max if you are using a form factor computer. ATX you can use any wattage. You may also need adapters.|||Yea you'll prob. be able to buy a 500 watt, even a 600 watt PSU for prob. under a 100$ off of mwave.com, newegg.com, or tigerdirect.com.
