Does it matter how many tails a diamond kite has?

I am trying to fix my little sister's diamond kite, but there are two tails. I have been good at patching kites, but not messing with the tail. The length is 26 3/4 inches and the width is 25 1/4 inches.|||It doesn't really matter.|||You have to experiment with it. Different length or types of tails may be needed for different weight distribution of the kite, and different wind conditions.
