Does it matter how many tails a diamond kite has?

I am trying to fix my little sister's diamond kite, but there are two tails. I have been good at patching kites, but not messing with the tail. The length is 26 3/4 inches and the width is 25 1/4 inches.|||Generally the keel helps with vertical stabilization of the kite, so tails would provide further stabilization. I've never seen two tails, but you may want to make them equal length.
