The pyramids at GIZA were built for pharahos that were worshiped like living gods amongst their followers. Other religions, who would not accept them as a god, for this reason would have most likely been repressed.
The common idea is that the pyramids were built by slaves (mostly jewish, perhaps), yet modern evidence points to pyramids actually being built by skilled, respected laborers, whos remains have been found in tombs surrounding the pyramids.|||This mystery has more than two thousand years. If I give you the answer, you wouldn't believe me. Stay researching, but, open your mind!
