FOR JW"S... The Great Pyramid......?

An examination of early Watchtower literature reveals that the Witness leaders once believed that the Great Pyramid of Egypt contained prophetic wisdom from God. Indeed, Charles Taze Russell was convinced that God had purposely designed the pyramid as an indicator of the end times. The pyramid was likened to a “Bible in Stone.” In Studies in the Scriptures, Russell wrote, Then measuring down the “Entrance Passage” from that point, to find the distance to the entrance of the “Pit,” representing the great trouble and destruction with which this age is to close, when evil will be overthrown from power, we find it to be 3416 inches, symbolizing 3416 years from the above date, B.C. 1542. This calculation shows A.D. 1847 as marking the beginning of the period of trouble; for 1542 years B.C. plus 1874 was the chronological beginning of the time of trouble such as was not since there was a nation- no, nor ever shall be afterward. (Stud in the Script. 1989 p. 124)


Watchtower leaders now admit that the 1874 date was wrong.


Following Russell’s death, the pyramid doctrine continued to be taught by the WTS. For those who don’t believe this, consult the May 15, 1925, issue of The Watchtower magazine in which it reads of the pyramid: “Its testimony speaks with great eloquence concerning the divine plan.”


It wasn’t until 1928 that J. Rutherford renounced this “Bible in Stone” doctrine. This means it was taught for 50 years before they discarded.(1879-1928)


In 1928 the WTS began calling it “Satan’s Bible.” The Watchtower mag. Issue of November 15, 1928 p. , reads, “It is more reasonable to conclude that the great pyramid of Gizeh, as well as the other pyramids thereabout, also the sphinx, were built by the rulers of Egypt and under the direction of the Devil… Then Satan put his knowledge in dead stone, which may be called Satan’s Bible, and not God’s stone witness.”





* Did you know that C.T. Russell and the WTS in its early years said the Great Pyramid in Egypt was God’s “Bible in Stone,” then later changed their doctrine and now call the Great Pyramid “Satan’s Bible” ?





* How do you reconcile this with the Watchtower’s claim to be a true prophet of God and “channel of truth’?





…and yes I have scanned the Watchtower issue to my comp. where the WTS have made the claim they are God’s Prophet/Channel of truth. I can send it too you.|||I find this very interesting , of course they will use the "light gets brighter" line.. but if you have a direct line to GOD as the WT%26amp;TS claims .. then the informaiton would not every be contra to the orginal beliefs.. and if Truly the "light gets brighter" then open debate and discussion would be incouraged ..





QUESTIon is open debate encouraged in the Kingdom hall|||Many others believe that..not just JW's. They don't have a patent on that believe.


Isaiah.19:19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.|||It is true that JW's have adjusted their thinking on matters through out history, especially in modern times. JW's will be the first to admit they were wrong in their viewpoint. They feel as the understanding increases, and this may call for an adjustment in our teaching. It was no different than with the first century apostles. The Bible refers to this as "the light getting brighter".





JW's may have been wrong on some things in the past...who cares. At least they don't have a pope to worship. At least they stick to Biblical teaching in regard to hell fire, heaven, the trinity, etc.|||all the people that attack JWs , why they don´t explain to us what will Jesus Christ do under his 1000 years kingdom? if is not the way JWs explain to the people then how is it? and please prove us with the bible , we prove with the bible what Jesus will do in the near future after Armageddon with this planet but we are wrong so give us an clear and bible based explanation, please...
