Was the JW 1914 prophecy based on Egyptian symbolism?

The founder of the Jws, CT Russel aparently had an obession with ancient Egyptian symbolism and the pyramids. He used his calculations of the pyramid in Gizeh to tie in with bible prophecy as shown below. He even had a pyramid placed as a memorial to him on his death.





How can a man, the founder of the JW Christian religion use such means to justify his calculations of 1914, and why would he?





This is not a question to offend I want to to find out the answer.





So, then, if we measure backward down the "First Ascending Passage" to its junction with the "Entrance Passage," we shall have a fixed date to mark upon the downward passage. This measure is 1542 inches, and indicates the year BC 1542, as the date at that point. Then measuring down the "Entrance Passage" from that point, to find the distance to the entrance of the "Pit," representing the great trouble and destruction with which this age is to close, when evil will be overthrown from power, we find it to be 3457 inches, symbolizing 3457 years from the above date, BC 1542. This calculation shows AD. 1915 as marking the beginning of the period of trouble; for 1542 years BC plus 1915 years AD. equals 3457 years. Thus the Pyramid witnesses that the close of 1914 will be the beginning of the time of trouble such as was not since there was a nation -- no, nor ever shall be afterward. And thus it will be noted that this "Witness" fully corroborates the' Bible testimony on this subject..." Please explain|||You are correct in your research of the "discovery" of the times. This IS how the date 1914 was chosen.

They just love making things up to fit their watchtower beliefs. I would respect them if they as individuals workes out their beliefs for themselves and not just unwittingly accept what they are fed in their propaganda booklet.|||Yes it was a lost ship from Egypt that left all the gold dishes and stuff that founding member Rev Russel found that started the hole process of a completely new religion as directed by the spirit of the holy ghost.

that mention a great tree...that represented God 麓s kingdom that in ancient times were represented by the jews`s kings





The bible compare goverments with trees...(Ezekiel 17:22 and Revelation 7:1-2)





during 7 times or what it is the samer 2520 years that goverment would be without a king





the jewish lineage of kings was removed 607 B.C.E...and until 1914....the span time is 2520 years ...after that Jesus was set in heaven as a king...





You can see that in Revelation 12....the ook of Revelation was written about the thing that will happen in the future...the future of the apostle John...or our present





the book of Revelation 1:1 began saying that the thing written in this book are about the future...not the past...so Jesus still wasn麓t set by annointed king...cause we can read that in CH12..








1914...the year that this human society began to crack...accept it or not ...it doesn麓t matter the pieces of the cracked system are falling and are so evident.|||Many prophecies from different sources say that this is the time when humanity is as far away from God consciousness as we can get.





I expect the JW's think that their prophet and his mystical experiences is right for them. imo They are not the only ones who may be right.





I do think that we have passed the worst and over the next 20 years there will be an awakening of our individual divine connection. I believe that helping each other and forgiveness is God's plan ie Love.
